My Sweet Baby

My sweet baby, Curtis Westin, is turning 20 on Tuesday October 16th. An official end to the teenage years! ( I hope this means the car insurance will go down! ) And, praise the Lord he made it out alive!! Anyone that knows Wes, is well aware of his penchant for getting hurt. Lets see, we have had a broken nose, broken fingers, a broken foot more than once, a broken humorous, the elbow bone broken off of the other humorous, a wrist severed from the arm bones at the growth plates, and his piece de resistance, a twice severed hamstring by a boat motor. Phew, no wonder I am more than half grey! Did I miss any major ones, son? Seriously though, we almost lost Westin in that boating accident 2 years ago and still having him here really is a great praise to the Lord as he turns 20. But, what I praise the Lord for most of all is who he has become.
Westin is a kind, generous, loving and faithful young man. He has a deep love for all of his family, especially his big brother, Jordan, and has loved the same little girl for more than 3 years. ( Hey Nikki, I put you in my blog :) ) He is such an example for me of being quick to forgive, quick to forget and quick to move on. I know he doesn’t get those traits from me so I guess a little credit has to go to Tim :) He is such a joy.
It is hard to put into words how proud his daddy and I are of him. His perseverance through very hard times, his passion for life, (oh how I wish he had that passion for his schoolwork!) and his strength of character has carried him far in 20 years and I know the sky is the limit for his future. He will make an excellent law enforcement officer, a fine husband, and a great daddy.
My prayer for him is that he would seek the Lord all the days of his life and would serve Him with his whole heart.
I can’t imagine life without Wes in it, so my second prayer is that he will have a long, safe life! NO MOTORCYCLES SON!
Happy Birthday Westin, I love you!!  Mom

  1. From a "motorcycle-riding mom" (NEVER thought I'd say that!) of a daring Special Ops guy, I rejoice with you over who God has made Wes to be! Happy Birthday, Wes!
